Power-up Test

Now we're ready to power up the board. For this you'll need a decent terminal program, those of us who use Windows
in the VEMS community prefer Bray Terminal which can be obtained from the authors website here:
http://bray.velenje.cx/avr/terminal/
Download and install the latest version of the program.
Start the program and check the settings:

Check that the COM port is correct for your system. Baud rate must be set to 9600, 8 Data bits, Parity none,
1 Stop bit, Handshaking none
Double check that the serial cable is connected correctly to the header, and click the Connect button.
Now connect the power.

You may see <0><0> output as shown.
To make sure that the board is definately alive and that your serial cable is working correctly
type Man click the -> Send button and you should see the following output:

Disconnect the power and close Bray Terminal.
If you don't see the output, check your serial lead and power supply and try again.
If everything went as shown it would be a good idea to finish soldering the pins on the EC36 connector
